Man What A Fire!

This week for family home evening we went to a friends farm and had a hot dog and marshmallow roast with some families from our neighborhood.

The boys threw sticks in the fire, and the girls sat and socialized!
He is such a pyro! Look at the expression on his face!
He is chucking some wood to help build the massive flames!
Everyone stood admiring the bonfire!

Wonderful Weekend!

Every year the Price Kiwanis Club hosts a kids day right after school starts. One of the best things about it is that everything is free!
Julia likes monkeys.
Cecilia had a lady bug tattoo.
Benson got an alien tattoo!
My kids having their turn at the ring toss!
The kids day offered a free lunch and dessert to everyone!
We had a two special visitors Sunday night. Ben's sister Emily and her boyfriend came down for a visit. Cecilia wanted to "read" them a book!
This is Emily with her boyfriend and the kiddos. We were so excited they could make it down to Price!

What happens when.....?

....you have a big girl in the house?
She gets to go to preschool!
We love our special CC, and I am so glad she gets to go to preschool!

.....Dad is in charge?
Ben thought it was so funny that he took some pictures to document it!If I had been home she would have been in trouble, but since Dad was in charge it was super funny!

.......a hummingbird gets stuck in the house?
We walked in our house one afternoon and noticed that our sliding door was slightly ajar. Then I heard a loud thumping noise. A hummingbird had entered the house and was flying into sliding glass door trying to find an exit.
By the time I grabbed my camera to take a picture Benson had already caught the hummingbird! I was worried it was injured, but when we brought it outside to let it go it flew away!

This concludes my first segment of What happens when.....? Who knows, maybe I will make another post like this in the future!

A Big Change

We decided to tackle a big project recently. We decided to repaint the exterior of our house, deck and our shed. I took some pictures to document the journey. This is the before picture.
Ben did a really good job of power washing the house before we painted.
I was the paint scrapper and Ben was the sander. This is what he looked like one evening after sanding with a power sander all day! He had a sawdust beard!
My Dad is painting the chimney! I don't know what we would have done without his help!
Cecilia was up on the roof for about twenty mintues....after that she did not want to get back up there. I think she did not think it was to fun.
Anytime the ladder was near the roof and an adult was around Benson and Julia were up on the roof!
Benson, Julia and my Mom really enjoyed playing "roof ball"! The kids would throw my Mom the ball and then she would throw it back up to them. Not only did my Mom help entertain the kids, but she helped with a lot of painting!
It was fun to have my sister Liz, her husband Courtney and their baby Cooper down for the project.
We had to hide the ladder after we were done with the painting. Benson and Julia enjoyed being on the roof a little to much!
We took a break from the painting to go to the park!
Yeeehaww!! Giddy yup little bumblebee!
Cooper had a blast
The front porch
This is a picture of the finished front of the house. When we finish painting the back deck I will post some pictures of the back of the house.

One Fine Day!!

A few Saturdays ago my kids came to Ben and I and said they would like us to come watch their performance. They set up chairs and a radio with a kids CD inside. We sat for thirty minutes watching them perform.
Even Benson did a dance!
Cecilia dressed up for the occasion! What a rock star!!
Julia loves to dance!
Benson has quite the serious face...
A dancing blanket even showed up as the finale.
Shortly after the dance performance we went fishing at the new fishing pond in Price.
All of the kids caught a fish!
Good job Cecilia!!
